Additional EU funding has been made available for Ukraine’s researchers.   Last year, the EU-funded EURIZON project launched a Fellowship Programme to support Ukrainian researchers and address the destruction of major infrastructures necessary for conducting research.   The initiative received an overwhelming response. To meet this demand and to provide continuous support to Ukranian research, the European Commission has increased the budget to €4.5 million under #HorizonEU.   This will fund 65 projects, involving over 320 Ukrainian researchers across a wide range of scientific domains.   We continue to #StandWithUkraine 🕊 and its research and innovation community  More ➡ https://lnkd.in/d2jKEmm8

Over three years of research, the HyFlow consortium has successfully developed a highly efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective hybrid energy storage system (HESS) that can meet high energy and power demands. 👉 https://lnkd.in/dAZRUN97 🔋 By combining a high-performance vanadium #redoxflow battery with a #supercapacitor with water-based electrolytes, they have created a new hybrid system that is ideal for modern power grids. Today, I am proud to announce €1.25 billion from Horizon Europe, our research and innovation programme, under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions to support cutting-edge research in 2024! Have you heard? There's €1.4 billion additional funding for EU research and innovation in 2024! Last week, the European Commission adopted an amendment to the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2023 – 2024. This Work Programme plans research activities for the coming year, complimenting the Horizon Europe Strategic Plan 2025 - 2027 which sets out the strategic orientations for EU funding. The amendment will increase the 2024 budget to a total of €7.3 billion. Over the course of 2024, the European Research Executive Agency (REA) plans on investing over €3 billion on behalf of the EU in research and innovation actions, as well as in the other programmes we manage! And this #HorizonEU amendment will impact the work we carry out in the coming months: It will provide additional funding for the #EUMissions - including #MissionSoil which is managed by us 🌱 €48 million will go for the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage, part of the #CulturEU programme at REA ☁ Under the Horizon Europe Clusters - including Cluster 6: Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment - researchers will be given more freedom to focus on their work on a subject they choose ☘ The amendment also provides continuity in 2025 for calls for proposals under our other programmes, such as the #MSCA, #Widening, and #Reforming the European R&I System 💡
